Competition law will remain at the forefront of the new European Commission's agenda. An active enforcement policy – alike the one vigorously pursued in previous years – should be expected to continue and result in heavy fines against infringements of competition law.
Compliance with EC competition law, which covers not only M&A transactions and jointventures, but also everyday business conduct, is of key importance for all companies operating in Europe. This business seminar, jointly organised by the EU Committee of the Belgium-Japan Association & Chamber of Commerce and Allen & Overy LLP, proposed a practical approach to these policy and business issues through interventions of a high-ranking EU official, an inhouse witness and private practice practitioners. |
