| On 17 February 2012, the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation organised a workshop on âEnsuring future mobility" with Centre EuropĂ©en dâEtudes Japonaises dâAlsace (CEEJA), PĂŽle VĂ©hicule du Futur, Region of Alsace and other regional partners. |

After the opening session with the presence of Mr Joseph DAUL, Member of the European Parliament and Ms Sophie ROHFRITSCH, Vice President of Alsace Region Council, the first session welcomed two interventions on the âgreen mobilityâ in Europe and Japan by Mr Erik BESSMANN, Project Manager, LâInstitut français des sciences et technologies des transports, de lâamĂ©nagement et des rĂ©seaux (IFSTTAR) and by Mr Norikazu OGINO, Senior Researcher, Japan Automobile Research Institute who focused on electric vehicles, with the presentations of two European Commissionâs officers from the Directorate-General Mobility & Transport (DG MOVE) (transport research and Innovation)and the Directorate-General Information Society (DG INFSO)(âICT for transportâ and its cooperation project with Japan).
In the second session, Mr Philippe CHICAN, Programs Manager of French competitive cluster focused on future vehicles, shared his experiences on cooperation with Japan, with two businesses(DENSO Automotive Deutschland GmbH and Cooltech Applications). About 40 people from industries, academia and authorities attended the workshop to discuss how Europe and Japan can cooperate on developing solutions for mobility-related issues. |
