Managing director Medicon Valley Alliance Stig JĂžrgensen is a medical doctor from the University of Copenhagen. In addition, he has a business degree in Organisation and Strategic Management from Copenhagen Business School. After clinical training, he joined Novo and later Novo Nordisk, where he worked within diabetes research and development. Later he had several managerial positions before he joined Coloplast â a Danish medical device manufacturer as Director of R&D. In 1996, he joined Coopers & Lybrandâs Pharmaceutical Group in London, where he participated in the implementation of several large mergers in the pharmaceutical industry. In 1999 Stig JĂžrgensen took up a position as Managing Director of Fertin â a manufacturer of pharmaceutical chewing gums. From 2000 until 2005 he managed his own consultant firm specialised in managing change projects within hospitals. From 1995-1999 he served at the Delegation of the European Commission in Japan, where he was Head of the Press and Information Service.
