On April 6, TMG announced the winning bidders of the upcoming Tokyo2020 Olympics Canoeing and slalom venue. The contract to construct the facilities for the venue was won by a Joint-venture, comprising of Konoike Construction Co. Ltd, Seibu Construction and Tsuboi Corporation with a bid of ¥3,443 million (Approx. 29 million EUR ) The only other participant in the bidding withdrew from the proceedings, and the Konoike JV bid was 94.4% of the projected price. Previous large Olympics-related tenders raised many eyebrows, as winning bids were close to 100% to the projected prices. The venue needs to be completed in May 2019.
