EU-Japan EPA: Impact on Government Procurement

On July 17th, European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met in Tokyo to sign the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). Marking a new phase in the economic and political cooperation between two of the largest economies in the world, the Agreement covers a wide range of activities, including access to government procurement. The EPA will give European companies further access to Japanese government contracts, and will help in making it easier to participate in competitive tender procedures. JTPP Helpdesk has made an outline of the matters laid down in the agreement. For more details, see https://www.eu-japan.eu/government-procurement-and-eu-japan-epa
