In Japan, it is serving as liaison with Europe, providing information on funding schemes, cooperation opportunities, and managing a community of more than 2000 researchers interested in Japan-Europe exchanges.
IPR Helpdesk The European IPR Helpdesk is the official IP service initiative of the European Commission providing free-of-charge, first-line advice and information on Intellectual Property (IP) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The service is targeted at researchers and European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) participating in EU-funded collaborative research projects. In addition it addresses SMEs involved in international technology transfer processes.
China IPR SME Helpdesk

The China IPR SME Helpdesk supports European Union (EU) Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to both protect and enforce their Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in or relating to Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan through the provision of free information and services. These take the form of jargon-free, first-line, confidential advice on intellectual property and related issues, plus training, materials and online resources.

The South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk provides free, business-focused advice relating to South-East Asia IPR to European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs):

  • Helpdesk Enquiry Service: Submit further questions to the Helpdesk via phone or email (, or visit us in person and receive free and confidential first-line advice within three working days from a South-East Asia IP expert.
  • Training: The Helpdesk arranges training on South-East Asia IPR protection and enforcement across Europe and South-East Asia, tailored to the needs of SMEs.
  • Materials: Helpdesk business-focused guides and training materials on South-East Asia IPR issues are all downloadable from the online portal.
  • Online Services: Our online portal ( provides easy access to Helpdesk guides, case studies, E-learning modules, event information and webinars.
