Overview

This seminar will offer an update on the adoption of the Unitary Patent system, which will contribute in making the protection of inventions in Europe simpler and more effective by allowing applicants to protect their inventions in EU countries by submitting one single patent application. The speakers will discuss how the Unitary Patent system is going to boost R&D activities, and facilitate the path of innovative products and services.
The seminar will also cover topics related to the growing adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and applications. In fact, the importance of AI it is now posing questions that must be clearly answered as this technology progresses. The speakers will cover main topics about AI-related inventions, their protection, and about the potential changes that IP legal frameworks might need to experience. The seminar will discuss the current situation from a European and Japanese perspective with an eye to the future.
