Towards climate neutrality within 2050: Italy-Japan approaches to photovoltaic energy deployment

The recent announcement of Prime Minister Suga of the new Japan engagement towards decarbonisation has opened an intense discussion within the country about how to achieve this strategic goal and its economic viability. The increase of the use of renewable energy in the energy mix is key for a smooth transition to a zero-carbon future. Aim of this event, held under the framework of the Italian Research Day in Japan 2021, is to illustrate the current status of photovoltaic energy deployment in Italy and Japan.
