On 20 May the EU-Japan Technology Transfer Helpdesk co-organized a special seminar in Tokyo regarding the heightened importance of definiteness in U.S. patent claims and clarity in E.P.O.-examined patent claims in collaboration with two IP firms. The speakers, Ron Harris of The Harris Firm, and Dominique Trösch, of Patronus IP in Munich, shared specific insights on how to attack and defend claims on the basis of definiteness and clarity, as well as how to draft claims to avoid these attacks.
