RoboWeek

The Japan Robot Week, the exhibition specialised in service robots and robot-related technologies, set out to create opportunities for new business by showcasing research and development in manufacturing of robots utilised in various contexts, and robotic system integration. Business discussions, presentations and lectures as well as technology exchanges were offered to unlock new business opportunities, exchange ideas and facilitate collaboration between companies.

At the same time, ‘World Robot Summit 2018’, organised by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and NEDO gathered many participants ranging from robot users, manufacturers, universities and corporations.

Due to the recognition of the countless benefits service robots offer, robots and robotics along with the development of IoT and AI, collaborative robots and learning robots have increasingly become a part of our daily lives and Japan has now entered the 4th Industrial Revolution.  “The Connected Industries” placed robotics as one of the spotlight areas.

The growth in use of robotics and creation of new business models are essential for Japan to be a role model as a ‘robot showcase’ in the world as we go toward the year 2020.
