CHATEAU PUYFROMAGE

CHATEAU PUYFROMAGE

Château Puyfromage is located in France – Bordeaux area, right bank on one of the highest points in the Gironde region, between the Dordogne and Isle valleys, fifty kilometers northeast of Bordeaux, near Saint-Émilion.

Built in 1574 next to an 11th-century château and a 16th-century royal dovecote, the estate is entirely owned and managed by the Marque family, winemakers in Bordeaux since 1768.

The 53-hectare vineyard is planted with vines on hillsides with the best exposure for grape growing and a unique microclimate.

For more than 10 years, we are involved in an environment and bio diversity process. Since 2021, Château Puyfromage is moving to Organic wines.

We use ecological green manures without herbicides, sap-friendly pruning, organic fertilization, as a manual disbudding and thinning for better yield management and vineyard protection, in accordance with organic farming specifications.

The wine is aged with the greatest care for 18 months in vats or French oak barrels (33% new). We produce few bottles (numbered) vinified in amphora. Regular racking eliminates all suspended impurities. Fining ensures good clarity and optimal clarification of our wines. Bottling is carried out with the greatest care in our cellars, after rigorous tastings and analyses. Vacuum corking leaves room in the bottle for possible expansion of the wine in the event of a rise in temperature during transport or at our customers' homes.

Our wines are balanced, round, without astringency or bitterness, with well-developed aromas and supple tannins. They were drunk by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Ottawa (Canada).

From the plant to the sales, 100% made by Chateau Puyfromage. 100% direct sales.

Our policy: to offer our customers best quality wine at a reasonable price.

Wines

An elegant and refined wine, produced from selected grapes grown on the slopes of one of Bordeaux's smallest appellations, the Francs Côtes de Bordeaux.

Albert Signature is produced using traditional methods and the principles of sustainable and organic viticulture.

A unique vinification process, with a long maceration by infusion, allows for gentle extraction and gives this wine supple and silky tannins.

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (30% new barrels) to provide structure and complexity while preserving the fruit aromas.

Albert Signature presents a deep garnet color.
The complex nose initially reveals aromas of peach, apricot, and vanilla, followed by delicate woody and cinnamon notes.
The attack is straightforward and powerful, with a gradual build-up of volume on the palate.
The tannins are present and perfectly blended, a sign of a great wine, which will leave you with a lingering, velvety, enveloping, and spicy sensation.

Excellent with deli meat, white and red meats, game, exotic dishes, cheeses, and chocolate.

A blend of Merlot (90%), Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc.

The name of the "Albert Signature" cuvée is a family tribute to their ancestors.

Puyfromage Blanc
A very pleasant and elegant white wine, produced on the family estate in the Bordeaux region, in the Entre-deux-Mers PDO between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers.
Its production is based on the principles of sustainable viticulture and the development of biodiversity.
Puyfromage Blanc, with its atypical blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon, and 15% Muscadelle, is aged on fine lees for 3 months, which brings it aromatic richness, suppleness, and roundness.
The wine reveals a clear, pale gold colour with silver highlights. Expressive nose with aromas of yellow fruits (pear, white peach), followed by citrus and mineral notes. The attack is lively, and the mid-palate is pleasantly velvety—a full-bodied wine with a long, citrusy finish.
Perfect for an aperitif and as an accompaniment to fried foods, white meats, and poultry. Excellent with seafood, cheese, and salads.
Rated 91 points by the International Wine Report.

This wine is a micro cuvée, atypical, limited to 980 numbered bottles per year.
Elaborate in one of the smallest Bordeaux appellations, PDO Francs Côtes de Bordeaux on the outskirts of the famous limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion.

The production is based on principles of sustainable and organic viticulture.

Amphore de Puyfromage is resulting from an unusual vinification process with a maceration by infusion: immersion of the marc cap and long maceration with little intervention for a gentler extraction.
Aging for 15 months exclusively in an amphora naturally concentrates the wine, rounds out the tannins, and enhances the aromas.

Amphore de Puyfromage reveals deep and lively color with a pretty garnet hue.
Aromas of finely spiced red fruits.
Velvety and gourmet attack then juicy in the middle of the mouth.
The palate is dense and rich, while offering delicate and elegant tannins.
Powerful and structured wine with a great freshness in the finish.

Excellent with deli meat, red meats, game, exotic dishes, cheeses, and chocolate.

A range of single grape variety wines: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Francs, and Malbec.
