Part of Linear Chuo Shinkansen Line construction tendered under WTO rules

Kensetsunews.com reports that projects related to the construction of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen Line, between Shinagawa-Tokyo and Nagoya, will be tendered under WTO regulations.

JR Tokai is commissioning a number of projects, including the 25 km long ‘Central Alps Tunnel’ to the Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology Agency (JRTT). This government organization will have to tender the projects under WTO rules.

 Construction projects commissioned to JRTT:

-       Tunnel between Tokyo-Machida city and Sagamihara-city (Including stations) 12 km

-       Yamanashi Prefecture Kofu Bonchi rail line 17 km

-       Central Alps tunnel between Nagano and Gifu 29 km

The commission projects constitute close to 20% of the total length of the line.
