Kobe University-VUB Symposium Showcases Latest EU-Japan Research on Oceans
Organised by Kobe University and the VUB on 18 October 2022, the 12th Annual KUBEC high-level symposium ‘Blue Economy, Green Horizons: EU-Japan Research for Healthy, Sustainable Seas and Oceans’, presented key topical issues and breakthroughs in Ocean research, from the perspectives of economics and governance, technology and innovation, and social sciences. In front of a record audience of 130 participants, the event featured 43 EU and Japanese speakers, including DG RTD Director General (Acting) Signe Ratso, Japanese Ambassador Yasushi Masaki, Kobe University President Masato Fujisawa and Horizon Europe Mission Chairman and former WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy.
