Overview
Galileo has started the initial service in December 2016. Additionally, Japan is scheduled to a 4-satellite constellation by 2018 and a 7-satellite constellation by 2023. The Tokyo 2020 games are one of the best opportunities to demonstrate applications for GNSS downstream sectors and there are some potential areas of cooperation between the EU and Japan. In this seminar, there will be presentations of updates on Galileo and QZSS and their services. Also introduced will be the applications for GNSS which were showcased in the London Olympics, and achievable applications towards Tokyo 2020. The panel discussions will cover the strength and issues of EU-Japan Collaboration and the roles of industry-government-academia. The target audience will be businesses based and operating in the Japanese market, academia and stakeholders interested in cooperation with the EU in the GNSS user segment.
