Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the EU-Japan Centre organised two Japan sessions during this year's European Economic Congress, a key economic event in the Central Europe organised in Poland each year.

MAY 19, 13:30 – 15:00: Future of Polish-Japanese economic relations in the context of soon conclusion of the Economic Partnerhsip Agreement (EPA) negotiations between EU and Japan

  • Current stage of FTA/EPA negotiations between EU and Japan. Main goals and benefits, expectations on both sides, challenges in removing tariff and not-tariff barriers;
  • Potential results of EPA conclusion for member states – including Poland and CEE countries;
  • Polish investments in Japan – potential of Japanese market and  JETRO’s activities for promoting direct investment to Japan

  • Cooperation in clean – coal technology and carbon and capture storage sector - successful cases and prospect for further collaboration;
  • Cooperation in third countries – potential sectors and regions.
