While a large portion of Japan’s healthcare system is privately managed, about 30% of Japan’s healthcare facilities are publicly-administered. These range from advanced university hospitals and research facilities to municipal hospitals and clinics. Public organisations are required to procure their goods and services through (often competitive) public procurement procedures. With the conclusion of the EPA, the number of public healthcare facilities that have opened their procurement to EU suppliers has increased significantly. This webinar will provide and outline of the procurement opportunities, preparations necessary and publicly-managed healthcare market.
This webinar is part of a series of webinars by the EU-Japan EPA Helpdesk. Each webinar will address a different topic or sector and will look at the changes the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement will make and the opportunities it will create. Each webinar will be accompanied by a factsheet and a practical guide. For more information on the EPA Helpdesk please click here.
The webinar was targeted to EU companies seeking to combine suppliers to Japan’s public healthcare organisations.
