38 years ago, the EU-Japan Centre was founded in a spirit of enduring partnership between the European Union and Japan. A long history of exchanges, mutual trust, and shared values confirms our strong foundation.

This year, we bring European SMEs and clusters to Japan in six different sectors: defence, biotechnology/pharmaceuticals, robotics/smart manufacturing, digital services, space, and green tech. Among our core activities, business mission participation remains high, and the Business Round Table remains an important vehicle for bringing together business leaders and authorities. Meanwhile, internship exchanges with the Vulcanus programme, cross-cultural workshops, partnership agreements, and newsletter readership are still going strong.

Our EU Business in Japan (EUBIJ) webpages covering various sectors in Japan continue to be updated regularly. Stay tuned for the latest developments.

We keep growing by creating new activities: Invest in EU Hub – promotion of investment opportunities in the EU, monthly reports about policy and regulatory developments in Japan, and a quarterly report about new innovations and technologies in Japan.

In times of geopolitical uncertainties and tensions, the EU-Japan partnership is stronger and more important than ever. The EU-Japan Centre is committed to fostering lasting business, research, and innovation cooperation between the EU and Japan.
