The strategic partnership between the EU and Japan continues to grow and to become even more dynamic, as the two partners are strengthening their cooperation in areas of high economic potential, which contribute to economic resilience and security in the current geopolitical context and accelerated technological shifts.

Cluj-Napoca will host The Romanian - Japanese Innovation Forum, an event organised with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Romania, Romanian ministries, national and local authorities, and other clusters in the region. The event aims to straighten the Romanian – Japanese collaboration, as both countries signed a strategic partnership in March 2023, to deepen cooperation in the field of science and technology.

Officials and experts from the EU and Japan met online from 6 to 8 June 2023 to discuss and exchange good practices in competition policy and enforcement.
