The President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, representing the EU, met Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba for the 30th EU-Japan summit, which took place in Tokyo on the 23 July 2025.

2nd EU-Japan Foreign Ministerial Strategic Dialogue

The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union/Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Takeshi Iwaya held the second EU-Japan Strategic Dialogue on 4 April in Brussels.
