2nd EU-Japan Foreign Ministerial Strategic Dialogue
The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union/Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Takeshi Iwaya held the second EU-Japan Strategic Dialogue on 4 April in Brussels.

German-Japanese Forum and Track 1.5 Security Dialogue
At the end of October, leading experts from business, politics, and media came together in Tokyo to take part in the 32nd German-Japanese Forum (DJF), the Japanese-German Track 1.5 Security Dialogue, and other meetings to discuss global challenges and future opportunities for cooperation.

Team Europe in Japan visits Kumamoto for exchanges with local stakeholders
On 8 and 9 February, European Union Ambassador to Japan Jean-Eric Paquet, together with 19 EU Member State Ambassadors, visited the city of Kumamoto in southwestern Japan for a series of meetings with local stakeholders on issues including security and economic security.
EU-Alliance: defence and security mission in Japan
The European partnership EU-Alliance organises a mission in Japan in March 2023, for European SMEs whose activities are related to technical textiles, connectivity, advanced technologies, and advanced materials, for dual-use applications in the security and defence markets.
