Promoting EU-Japan business cooperation in Africa at the STePP Forum 2023
On 13 September 2023, the EU-Japan Centre was invited to speak at the STePP Forum organised by UNIDO ITPO Tokyo to talk about EU-Japan business cooperation in Africa.
Poland and Japan strengthen cooperation on hydrogen
On 4 May 2023, Polish Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moscow, and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Yasutoshi Nishimura, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of hydrogen.
EIG CONCERT-Japan joint call for research proposals
The EIG CONCERT-Japan will launch its 10th joint call for research proposals this spring.  This year’s theme is Sustainable cities, and the call’s subject will be “Solutions for Carbon-Neutral Cities”.
EU-Japan Joint Dialogue with Civil Society
On 3 March, Japanese and European civil society met for an online joint dialogue to discuss trade and sustainable development. Cross-cutting topics included due diligence and corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at preventing violations of human and labour rights.
EU-Japan Green Transition Matchmaking 2023
In partnership with many stakeholders in Europe and Japan, the EU-Japan Centre organises an “EU-Japan Green Transition Matchmaking” for the second year in a row. The event is for companies as well as research organisations from Japan and Europe interested in building business partnerships that contribute to a low-carbon society.
Global Foodture project targets Japan

Sustainable Technology Day
The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation and UNIDO ITPO Tokyo organised the Sustainable Technology Day on 17 February 2023. The pitching and networking event aimed at connecting EU and Japanese companies for possible joint projects in Africa.

Joint venture established in 1987 by the European Commission (DG GROW) and the Japanese Government (METI) for promoting all forms of industrial, trade and investment cooperation between the EU and Japan.
