EU and Japan reaffirm close cooperation on trade and economic security
The EU and Japan reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening their cooperation on trade and economic security at their 6th High-Level Economic Dialogue (HLED) on 8 May 2025.
DG Trade expands online business support for EU service exporters
DG Trade has expanded the scope of its online Trade Assistant for Services and Investment to cover one hundred services sectors across four of the EU’s key trading partners: Canada, Japan, Switzerland, and the UK.
EU-Japan Joint Dialogue with Civil Society
On 3 March, Japanese and European civil society met for an online joint dialogue to discuss trade and sustainable development. Cross-cutting topics included due diligence and corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at preventing violations of human and labour rights.
The EU and Japan held their second High-level Economic Dialogue
Held on the 25 October, this second meeting of the HLED confirmed EU-Japanese strategic alignment on key economic and geopolitical challenges.
