ABOUT THE EVENT
The Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition will take place from 18 to 20 June 2025 at Tokyo Big Sight. This international event aims at enhancing economic growth and regional energy security by gathering the public and private sectors of Japan and other countries to discuss and establish partnerships in the fields of energy and decarbonisation in Japan and in Asia.
Sectors of interest at the Japan Energy Summit & Conference are energy production hydrogen, green ammonia, natural gas, LNG, biofuels, energy efficiency, energy storage, smart-grids, carbon capture and storage (CCUS), energy infrastructure and logistics and decarbonisation.

Are you a European company active in the field of energy or decarbonisation? Have you been looking to expand your business with Japanese companies in Asia? If so, apply now and get a chance to showcase your company at the Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition in Tokyo from 18 to 20 June 2025.
The selected EU companies will be able to exhibit for 3 days at the EU-Japan Centre’s booth and to take part in a pitching session at the ClimateTech Theatre on 18 June. The EU-Japan Centre’s staff will help promote the participants’ products, services and technologies and translated posters will be displayed at the booth. In addition, meeting tables and professional interpreters at the booth will help facilitate business meetings throughout the event.
Many visitors and exhibitors from Japan, Asia and other regions will be present throughout the 3 days. This will be an excellent opportunity to connect with Japanese companies and discuss joint projects not only in Japan but also across Asia and other parts of the world.

OBJECTIVES
WHO CAN APPLY?
This call for applications targets individuals working for SMEs (*) (small and medium enterprises, start-ups), Clusters (**) or large companies from the European Union, or a country associated to the Single Market Programme, SME Pillar (***), specialised in the following business areas:
Due to the international dimension of the event, EU companies that have experience in Asia and wishing to partner with Japanese companies in Asia are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in Japan or with Japanese business partners is also a plus. Therefore, individuals working in Japanese or other Asian subsidiaries of companies headquartered in the European Union are particularly relevant. Applicants from the European headquarters are also eligible if their profile is relevant for this event.
(*) Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are companies that meet the standard criteria set by the European Commission to be classified as SMEs. See the EU definition here.
(**) Clusters are those who are registered in the European Cluster Cooperation Platform (www.clustercollaboration.eu). Registration on that platform is free of charge.
(***) Please check the status of your country here. EFTA countries and countries that have signed an agreement to participate in "SMP COSME" and "Competitiveness of SMEs" are eligible.

SELECTION
The EU-Japan Centre will evaluate applicants based on the following selection criteria:

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
The EU-Japan Centre will cover the expenses for one representative per selected SME/cluster* for the following elements:
*A participation fee of ¥80,000 will be charged for large companies only.
COSTS
Participants are responsible for covering the following expenses:

In addition, the EU-Japan Centre cannot provide Delegate Passes (access to the Strategic Conferences and Technical Conferences of the Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition) to participants. If selected participants wish to attend these conferences, they must purchase a pass on their own.
DEPOSIT
SMEs/clusters who have been selected are required to pay a refundable deposit of ¥160,000 (a deposit in euros is also possible) to secure their spot. Upon (1) attending the full event and (2) submitting your answers to a post-event questionnaire, the deposit will be refunded. Before applying, please ensure that you are committed, as cancelling after confirming your participation will result in a forfeiture of the deposit.
Large companies who have been selected are required to pay a non-refundable participation fee of ¥80,000 to secure their spot.
