November 30 2017

'Market opportunities for EU agribusinesses in the context of the EU-Japan EPA' by William Fournel (Minerva fellow participant) on 30 November 2017

30-11-17 | 10:30 - 11:30 AM CET

This webinar presents a report that consolidates 6 months of research conducted under the MINERVA Fellowship Programme at the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation in Tokyo. The report provides an analysis of the economic and demographic situation of Japan as well as of its trade integration in order to show how these factors affect simultaneously the local demand, the domestic supply and the market access for EU agribusinesses. It also identifies trends in this changing market that will bring numerous opportunities to prepared and informed EU agribusinesses in the favourable context of the EU-Japan EPA. The report concludes with several policy and general recommendations to support EU exports of food products to Japan. The content reflect as much as possible opinions of EU and Japanese experts from various backgrounds: EU embassies’ trade and agricultural counsellors, representatives of business organisations and professionals with an extensive experience of the Japanese food market.
