Japan sets new yen-thresholds for GPA/EPA government procurement

Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced  the new thresholds for GPA/EPA regulated government procurement that will apply for the coming two years from April 1st, 2022. While Special Drawing Rights (SDR) thresholds remain unchanged, the Government of Japan adjusts yen values every two years.

Compared with the previous two years, yen values were lowered for construction and architectural services categories for all entities. As a consequence more larger contracts related to public works construction could become available for overseas suppliers. Procurement of goods and services remains unchanged.
