The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is accepting applications for the Smart Factory & Robotics Business Mission in Japan, taking place in Tokyo from 15 to 19 February 2027.

The mission will bring up to 16 European companies and clusters to Japan to explore business cooperation with Japanese industry in areas such as robotics, industrial automation, IoT, AI-supported production systems, and smart manufacturing.
The programme is linked to Smart Factory Expo 2027, part of Factory Innovation Week at Tokyo Big Sight. Mission participants will exhibit at the joint EU-Japan Centre booth during the exhibition from 17 to 19 February, with opportunities to present their solutions and meet potential Japanese partners.
The mission supports European companies and clusters seeking to build connections in Japan, identify potential partners, and explore future business and innovation partnerships. Before travelling to Japan, participants will also be offered two online training modules, currently scheduled for the mornings of 21 and 22 January 2027.

Applications deadline: 3 November 2026.
