Japan’s new invoice system starts officially this October, what will it mean for your business?

This webinar will provide a summary of the new "Qualified Invoice system" in Japan. On October 1, 2023, Japan will implement a qualified invoice system for Japanese consumption tax ("JCT") purposes. The system will require buyers to retain invoices ("Qualified Invoices") provided by enterprises registered with the tax office ("Registered Enterprises") to claim input JCT credits. A definition of qualified invoices, the registration to issue Qualified Invoices, requirements for sellers, and the calculation of JCT is included. 

The webinar is targeted to EU companies that do business with Japan and have questions regarding the impact of the invoice system on their fiscal and accounting affairs.

Speaker: Ms. Noriko Nukui, Tax Accountant,  TGN Soleil Accounting FirmWith more than 15 years’ experience as a tax accountant, she works as a financial controller and auditor for public corporation, incorporated administrative agency and non-profit organisations. She also looks after them as an advisor and provides support in tax filings. Beside her clients in Tokyo and elsewhere in Japan, she also services an increasing number of foreign companies based in Japan. Ms. Nukui is also often asked to give seminars on monetary and fiscal affairs to financial organization.  Ms. Nukui is a graduate of Waseda University, and received an MA in Commerce from the Graduate School of Commerce, Waseda University.
