“The Net-Zero Industrial Act (NZIA) and Clean Industrial Act” ーOpportunities for Japanese businesses and investors

Thursday, 13 March 16:30-18:00 Tokyo (8:30-10:00 Brussels)
(English-Japanese simultaneous interpretation provided / Free event)

This webinar will delve into the key provisions of the Net-Zero Industrial Act (NZIA) and Clean Industrial Deal, highlighting their impact on industries and the businesses and investment opportunities they generate for Japanese companies. In the context of the EU Green Deal Industrial Plan aiming at enhancing the competitiveness of Europe's net-zero industries and accelerating the transition to climate neutrality, the Net-Zero Industrial Act was introduced by the European Union in early 2024.

The Act focuses on strengthening the resilience and capacity of net zero technologies manufacturing in the EU by boosting the development of green technologies across various sectors, attracting investments, and improving market access for clean tech business in the EU. The Clean Industrial Deal, announced on 26th February 2025, presents a plan to accelerate the decarbonization and competitiveness of Europe’s industry by reinforcing its resilience. It is a cornerstone of the Competitiveness Compass, the EU’s new growth strategy. Both the Net-Zero Industrial Act and the Clean Industrial Deal integrate significant financial support, faster approval decisions, and simplified administrative procedures in support for green innovation projects with opportunities for Japanese businesses and investors.

One of the key experts of the Net Zero Industrial Act and of the Clean Industrial Deal, Mr. Jacek Truszczynski from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), will guide participants on how to take advantage of the business opportunities under these initiatives.
