Trends in EU Policy and Approaches to Engagement in the Policy-Making Proces

Wednesday, 18 June 2025, 17:00-18:15 Tokyo (10:00-11:15 Brussels)
(Japanese language only / Free Event)

As new regulations are introduced in the EU across various areas—such as environmental standards, digital policies, and trade agreements—it is essential for companies to gather information early and anticipate the potential impact to maintain their competitive edge. By closely monitoring EU policy developments, businesses can not only adapt to regulatory changes but also leverage them to strengthen their own strategies.

Moreover, active engagement in the EU policymaking process is equally important. Appropriate reflection of industry views in the process helps to strike a better balance between the effects and burdens of regulation. This not only enhances the effectiveness of the policy itself but also deepens understanding of policy goals, increasing the potential to align business strategies accordingly.

We are delighted to welcome Mr. Shozo Maeda, Secretary General of the Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE), an organization highly regarded in Europe for providing fair and accurate information, as our keynote speaker. He will provide insights into EU policies and regulations, covering past developments as well as the latest trends. We are also honored to have Ms. Yukako Kinoshita, Head of the Social Sustainability Department at Panasonic Holdings, as a commentator.  Ms. Hiroko Shinkai, Senior Research Fellow of EUJC, joins us as well to comment on the topics. For registration, please click the ZOOM link below.
