Webinar 74: Innovative Robotics

June 28 2016

Will human assistant robotics represent the solution to population ageing?

When it comes to human assistant robotics Japan is known as leading contributor to its development. The advanced level of technological sophistication, a population that is said to be particularly open to the utilisation of robots for personal care, the growing demand based on societal challenges etc. make Japan a perfect market and partner. As European countries face a similar demographic development they see the same valuable potential in assistant robots to cope with it. The initial advantage European companies have is that they can learn from Japan, which is one of the fastest ageing countries worldwide, bring their own experiences to bear and utilise the best methods of both approaches. Knowing about the driving factors behind Japan's efforts, but also about the shortcomings of Japanese companies can pave the way for European success stories.

The webinar was targeted to EU companies seeking to enter the Japanese human assistant robotics market and/ or to collaborate with Japanese partners in this particular field.
