Strengthen your innovation and global competitiveness with Europe's top engineering and science talent
Vulcanus in Japan is an 8-month internship programme in which companies in Japan host selected European engineering and science students in their R&D and technical departments (2 months of Japanese language training + 6-month internship).
2027–2028 call for host companies
Applications: 15 October – 15 December 2026
- Top engineering and science talent: work with one or more of up to 25 students selected from 400–800 applicants each year
- R&D and innovation: bring specialist knowledge and fresh perspectives into your research and technical projects
- Internationalisation and future talent: build an international team and connections for future recruitment in Europe
Since 1997, nearly 800 Vulcanus alumni have gone on to work as engineers and scientists across Europe and Japan. In 2027, the programme celebrates its 30th anniversary.
