EU-Japan cooperation

The EU-Japan Centre promoted EU-Japan business cooperation in Africa and presented existing joint projects in the infrastructure sector.

Minister for the Economy, Enterprise, and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta, André Spiteri, and other Maltese representatives, recently travelled to Japan to foster stronger ties between the two countries.

On 13-15 January 2025, Barcelona hosted the High-Level Symposium on "EU-Japan Collaboration in High-Performance Computing (HPC)".

From 31 March to 7 April 2025, Tokyo will host the EU-Japan Digital Week, a key event bringing together academia, research, industry, business, and policymakers from Japan, the European Union, and other Indo-Pacific countries.

At the end of October, leading experts from business, politics, and media came together in Tokyo to take part in the 32nd German-Japanese Forum (DJF), the Japanese-German Track 1.5 Security Dialogue, and other meetings to discuss global challenges and future opportunities for cooperation.
