The Current State and Future Prospects of Japan-EU Defence Industry Cooperation

Against the backdrop of a changing global security environment, both Japan and the EU are predicted to increase their defence spending in the coming years. In this context, the both parties are expected to strengthen their respective national and regional defence industrial bases. As Japan and the EU share the same values, there is a recognised need and potential to deepen cooperation in the defence industry.

Following the Japan-EU Summit of July 2025, the first Japan-EU Defence Industry Dialogue was held in Brussels this April. In this webinar, we will look ahead to future defence industry cooperation between Japan and the EU, based on reports from public and private sector leaders who planned and led the Defence Industry Dialogue in April.
