Circular economy is an economic system that aims to enhance industrial competitiveness and economic growth while ensuring efficient and cyclical use of resources at all stages of the supply chain and value chain, based on the premise of reuse/recycle from the product design stage. In this webinar, the authorities of both Japan and the EU will introduce the latest status and challenges of evolving CE policies and initiatives, and explore ways of cooperation.

This webinar, focusing on “Sustainable Chemistry”, will invite policy officials from Japan and the EU as well as representatives of the industry to discuss challenges, expectations, and future directions for promoting sustainable chemistry. 

As the full implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will commence on 1 January 2026, we are honored to welcome Mr. Xavier Vanden Bosch, an official from the European Commission's unit in charge of CBAM (DG TAXUD) as the speaker, who will review the operations during the provisional application period and present the outlook for the full implementation.
