Innovation mission to Japan 2025

The EU-Japan Centre is targeting cutting-edge technologies sectors for its second Innovation mission to Japan.

This mission is organised on the fringes of the Innovation Leaders Summit (ILS) 2025 that takes place in Tokyo, Japan in December. Selected participants will be able to exhibit in a joint booth under the EU-Japan Centre umbrella. (For more info about the Summit https://ils.tokyo )

The mission will give to 12 EU SMEs and clusters the opportunity to enter the Japanese market or further develop their ongoing activities in the country and establish technology or business partnerships and therefore increase their innovation capacity and make them more competitive on the global scale.

Mission dates: 1-5 December 2025

Application deadline: 28 August 2025

Venue: Tokyo, Japan

TARGET SECTORS

- Artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data-driven technologies;

- robotics, automation, and smart manufacturing

- digital health and medical technologies;

- clean technologies, climate tech, and sustainability solutions;

- mobility, smart cities, or energy innovation;

- advanced materials, sensors, or IoT;

- other emerging or deep-tech sectors relevant to open innovation and industrial transformation.

COSTS

- The EU-Japan Centre will cover participation fees to the trade fair, and the booth operational costs.

- The participants' companies are expected to cover travel, accommodation and living expenses.
