In Japan, good design goes beyond beauty and is a driving force behind society’s development. Good designs have to be of great quality, purpose and be seen as such by consumers.
Although this market is difficult to enter, it is a very beneficial one for foreign companies. There already are many collaborations between European and Japanese designers, and the Covid-19 crisis has shown how design and home furniture is of great importance for Japanese spending increasing time at home.
