Minerva Policy Report: EU-Japan Robotics Supply Chain

About the Report

As the robotics industry accelerates towards its next era, securing continued Japanese and European leadership is a clear strategic imperative. However, both regions face major threats to their incumbent positions. Some threats are rooted in technological change: the core drivers of competitiveness in the robotics industry and downstream user industries are changing. Software and related hardware inputs that enable environmental perception, processing, and autonomy are taking on greater importance. This is unbundling production and creating opportunities and incentives for new market entrants to challenge incumbents.

This report analyses the Robotics Industry, supply chains, and policy strategy in Japan and Europe and related areas of complementarity and cooperation.
